Day 1
Leave Johannesburg early morning in an air-conditioned vehicle travelling eastward across the rolling grasslands of the Highveld towards the majestic east Drakensberg escarpment. Travel through Mbombela, the capital of Mpumalanga, the place where the sun rises before we enter the Kruger Park in the low veld. Lunch on route and preferably in the park or, at Alzu, depending on the time of the day.
Make sure your camera and binoculars are ready for the first exciting game drive when you see your first animals, there is always something exciting waiting. As the sun is setting travel a short distance to a lodge or camp where we stay overnight. Book into a room or safari tent. Time to relax on the deck looking across the Sabie river where you might see some hippos or crocodile. Dinner in the bush.
Day 2
Your first morning game drive starts before the sun is up so we enjoy a cup of tea or coffee with Amarula and our famous “Rusks”. We introduce you to your open safari vehicle and discuss rules with the OSV in the park. As soon as the gate opens we enter searching for animals and wait for the sunrise. Keep your camera ready for any wild life crossing the road as this usually happens quickly. Breakfast and lunch will be at one of the camps or picnic spot as we traverse the park for the day. You will find your eyes are tired but your soul is saturated with all you have seen so, we have dinner and a glass of wine and look at our photos we have taken.
Day 3
Depart from camp for your final game drive searching for a chance to find those elusive animals you have missed. Enjoy breakfast either back in camp or on the way out at a picnic spot before you leave the Park to begin your homeward journey. Travel westward via Mbombela and back up to the Highveld.
