Our tour starts at your hotel as we depart to Constitution Hill, a city precinct west of Hillbrow. This is the highest court in South Africa and built on the site and history of the Old Fort and prison. Nelson Mandela and Gandhi were incarcerated here during the Rivonia trial as well as other struggle heroes. Inter-mixed, you will find the history of Johannesburg, the Anglo Boer War and the prison life of known South Africans inter-mingled into the South Africa we know today.
This is an interesting tour as the hill is historically linked with its surroundings and timeline. If you have the time and fascinating court houses through the world interests you, you must visit Constitutional Hill. Hopefully on the day of your tour there is no court sitting.
