Here is your chance to experience the majestic Victoria Falls as you travel through Zambia and Botswana. Departing from Johannesburg in the morning, to a boat cruise on the Zambesi river. While it is neither the highest nor the widest waterfall in the world, Victoria Falls is classified as the largest, based on its combined width of 1,708 metres (5,604 ft) and height of 108 metres (354 ft), resulting in the worldās largest sheet of falling water.
Victoria Falls is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World and the major waterfall on the Zambezi River in Africa. It is famous for being the largest waterfall in the world, in the wet season. The African people who live around the falls call it Mosi-oa-Tunya which means āsmoke that thundersā.
Day 01
Today you will board your flight at the OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg for our flight to the Victoria Falls Airport in Zimbabwe. Upon arrival at the Victoria Falls Airport you will be met and transferred to the A’Zambezi River Lodge where you will spend (2) nights in twin standard rooms on a bed & breakfast basis.
In the afternoon you will be collected for a sunset cruise on the Zambezi River including drinks (beer and wine) and light snacks. Transfer to the jetty for a cruise along the Upper Zambezi in the late afternoon. Enjoy the sights and sounds of the Zambezi River in relaxation, with local wines, beers, soft drinks and snacks served during the trip. This trip often offers a magnificent chance to witness a spectacular African sunset. Cruise back to the jetty for transfer back to the hotel after sunset.
Day 02 The Falls and Scenery
After breakfast depart on a guided tour of the Falls. First stop is the Big Tree – a massive baobab many hundreds of years old with a girth of some 22 meters. The tour continues on to the Falls themselves, starting at Livingstoneās statue and Devilās Cataract and proceeding through the rain forest to Danger Point. The total walk is 3kms with many spectacular view points along the way. Raincoats are available for hire at additional cost.
Spend the afternoon at leisure. If you want an activity for this afternoon please let us know and we will suggest a few activities from which you can choose.
Day 03 Chobe National park in Botswana
After breakfast you will be transferred to the Botswana border where you will clear customs and will then be transferred to the Chobe National Park. Just outside the park you will enjoy (2) nights at the Elephant Valley Lodge in twin forest tents including: all meals, drinks on activities (excludes premium brands), transfers to and from Kasane Airport and two daily safari activities (morning boat cruise and afternoon game drive). Excludes park fees, bed levies and drinks not specified.
Day 04
Day spent on safari at the Chobe National Park with a morning activity and an afternoon activity.
Day 05
Today you will be transferred to Kasane Airport in time for your flight to OR Tambo International Airport. Upon arrival at OR Tambo International Airport you will continue under your own arrangements.
Visit the Pilanesberg three hours from Johannesburg and see Africa’s wildlife. This is an amazing day trip.
