Quite a number of battles in and around Gauteng happened during the Anglo Boer War (also called the South African War) and a few were in the Magaliesburg region’s bush veld. It is not only the Natal province that can showcase the ABW battlefields, but also Gauteng and the North West provinces. Some of these battles are quite a bit of a walk but this is what we have to start doing, walking and exercising and at the same time learn about the history of South Africa.
Come and meet our specialist Guides that will provide you with a comprehensive talk on the battle fields, and also take you to them. Some still show signs of the battles, and believe me, these are fascinating battles and you will be taken back in time to 1898 to 1902.
We also arrange and do private tours for British and Afrikaner families that want to walk in the footsteps of the men & woman that were part of these battles. These tours are throughout the battle fields in South Africa and take time to plan and arrange but are part & parcel of your tour, and the fascinating lives of the people that fought in these battles come to life.
So, if you have time and want to see the ABW battlefields, talk to Annekie. We will meet you at the airport or your front door, drive you to the pick-up point where you meet your Battlefields Specialist and we spend the day learning about this historical time in South Africa and take you back to your hotel or home. We will also arrange your accommodation should you wish to spend more time visiting the battlefields in and around Gauteng and we can do this at one of the lodge homes that survived the ABW. Should you want to see the battlefields of Kwa Zulu Natal, we can arrange this for you.
The costs are determined according to the battles you want to do on a day tour basis, and accommodation arrangements should you prefer to stay over.

This tour can be linked to families that stayed or were born in South Africa and want to show their children where they grew up and went to school. Also, visiting the graves of their loved ones can be arranged.
This is an interesting tour as the hill is historically linked with its surroundings and timeline. If you have the time and fascinating court houses through the world interests you, you must visit Constitutional Hill. Hopefully on the day of your tour there is no court sitting.
